KPI meetings that end on time
Metric reviews fail when every chart is equally important. A shorter agenda with clearer owners changes the tone of the room.
A useful KPI meeting answers three questions: what moved, why we think it moved, and what we will try next. Everything else belongs in an appendix or a separate deep dive.
Assign a single owner per metric before the meeting starts. Owners arrive with a one-paragraph story—not a live exploration of every filter in the dashboard. Exploration happens offline.
Cap the standing deck at one north-star chart and three input metrics. If a fourth metric needs airtime, something else leaves the agenda for that week.
End with written commitments in shared notes. Verbal agreement evaporates by Thursday; a dated action with a name attached does not.
